What is Global Mural Conference
The GMA stays in touch all the while through this website, but it also meets together every two years for a grand Biennial Global Mural Conference. This event is hosted by a city that is an active member of GMA and members and guests from all over the World attend. GMC has already sanctioned and co-organized biennial Global Mural Conferences. Thus far, after an initial International Festival hosted in Katikati New Zealand in 1996, Global Mural Conferences have been held every second year since 1998 in Canada, the USA, Scotland and Australia.
GMC Mission
To elevate the abundant wealth of artists, towns and cultural mural events around the Globe. Offer visibility to the GMC host and its mural project. To present new and effective ways for creating and marketing mural projects.
The biennial Global Mural Conference is the exclusive property of the Global Mural Association, convened under the Board of Directors of GMA composed of elected members. Board of Directors is appointed after each GMC.
The GMC is managed by the host city, the host is solely responsible of its social and financial success. GMA council and conference guide offers its cooperation and guidance from the experience of previous events.
The successful bidder must be prepared to underwrite all costs incurred to hold an orientation meeting with an appointed selected group of officials of the GMA conference committee not later than 90 days following announcement of the City and the host organization.
The time of the conference guide is sponsored by the GMA but it is the responsibility of the host city to meet the reasonable three days travel expenses, food, and accommodations involved.
The host organization must also be prepared to introduce the GMA guide to the assets of the host city and assist him/her in becoming a good ambassador for the host organization.
In addition, a mini conference facility must be made available to accommodate the GMC guide during the orientation sessions as well as a free table for display during the conference.
The host organization agrees not to assess conference fees, travel expenses, food, and accommodations to the Founder and the President of the GMA or the GMA guide.
